I was born and raised in Montana, so the whole state is essentially my background. I could keep this knowledge for myself, as a precious secret. But nature’s glory and beauty should be shared with everyone. Having said that, here are 5 of my favorite hiking trails in the state of Montana:
- Highline Trail: A stunning 7.6-mile trek with jaw-dropping views of Glacier National Park’s mountain peaks and wildflowers.
- Grinnell Glacier Trail: A moderate 7.6-mile round trip trail with turquoise lakes, glaciers, and wildlife in Glacier National Park.
- Iceberg Lake Trail: A scenic 9.7-mile hike through bear country to a crystal clear alpine lake with breathtaking views.
- Beehive Basin Trail: A 6-mile round trip trek with wildflowers, waterfalls, and panoramic views of Lone Mountain.
- Mount Sentinel Trail: A steep but rewarding 3-mile hike to the “M” overlooking the University of Montana and the Missoula valley.
